Founded in 1989, Kilgour Wines is one of the pioneering wineries that helped shape the Bellarine Peninsula into the premier wine destination it is today. For more than thirty years, we have been an independent, family-owned winery dedicated to crafting exceptional maritime-climate wines from our acclaimed vineyards.

ABOUT OUR WINES
HAND-PICKED GRAPES
All of our grapes are hand-picked when flavour ripe by our incredible vineyard team. Hand-picking allows for a gentle touch that helps preserve the integrity of the grape, which helps us to produce premium wines year after year.
COOL-CLIMATE WINES
Our wines are elegant and reflective of the region's terrior and maritime influence, with the vineyard only a stones throw from the coastline. North facing vines, a rich loam soil and cool winds across Port Phillip Bay, ensures elegant fruit-driven wines with great flavour.
ALL IN THE FAMILY
We have been caring for our vineyards since we planted the first one in 1989. For over three decades we have combined both modern and traditional techniques when crafting each variety. At present, we are privileged to have Anne’s son Alister, head winemaker at Shadowfax, as consultant and winemaker to ensure that the quality of our beautiful fruit is showcased in each wine.
Come Visit
We open our Cellar Door every Saturday and public holiday weekends for tastings and dine-in experiences. Located on McAdams Lane, we offer an intimate setting for lovers of quality wine to taste and explore our wines. Stay a while, grab a spot on our deck and enjoy a bottle and one of our gourmet platters.

OUR STORY
It all began with the first vines planted in 1989. Owner Anne Timms quickly became a pioneer of the Geelong food and wine scene, winning many prestigious awards for her fruit-driven wines and establishing a former iconic winery in 1990 and restaurant in 1996 - Kilgour Estate (now known as Jack Rabbit). Today , McAdams Lane boasts four separate wine businesses, all producing distinctive wines and various varieties.
Kilgour is a family affair. Anne manages the Cellar Door and their 25-acre vineyard with the her Cellar Door team and the assistance of her family. Anne’s son Alister is a consultant and winemaker behind the Kilgour label.
